Surprise! New Release – Almost Paradise

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been online, and I know a lot of fans have been concerned about me. With the exception of my personal life being completely overwhelming, I’m fine.

I spent all of January in the Intensive Care Unit at my mother’s bedside serving as her medical advocate while she was in a medically induced coma on a ventilator. Hey, I guess my Master’s degree in molecular medicine wasn’t completely useless after all! I was all up in those doctors’ business making sure they were giving her the care she needed. And they came through for her. We almost lost my Mom—more than once—but she’s recovering now after requiring surprise (bad surprise) open heart surgery. We didn’t even know she had heart problems. Her recovery has been a slow process. I spent all of February taking care of her in my home and driving her to appointments. March has been a little less hectic, so I finally found the time (and motivation) to publish a novella I wrote back in November. Back before my life took an unexpected detour down a dark, scary alley and made writing impossible.

If you’ve emailed or messaged me and I haven’t responded, I apologize. I just couldn’t (and still can’t) bring myself to relive the nightmare that was January 2016 hundreds of times by answering all those messages with my excuses. Just thinking about those dark days makes me upset and I don’t need additional upset right now. I do appreciate your concern. You’re wonderful people for worrying about me. I honestly didn’t know what to say, so I just didn’t say anything. I know it’s rude, but it’s the only way I could get through the ordeal with my sanity mostly intact. I just need to move forward now.

Enough of about the last couple months of hell. I didn’t finally break my involuntary hiatus to depress everyone—or myself again. I didn’t want to come back online until I had some good news. And I do!

Yay! A good surprise! I’ve had enough of those bad ones, thank you very much.

Since this book was so delayed—I was planning on releasing it months ago—I decided to release it as a surprise. So SURPRISE! It’s Almost Paradise! Eric and Rebekah’s honeymoon story was released today. No preorder. It’s already available in eBook. This is the second epilogue to Wicked Beat. It’s sexy; it’s sweet; it’s fun; it’s Sticks.

Here’s the blurb:

He’d better invest in some snow pants
Sinners’ fun-loving drummer Eric Sticks recently married his perfect woman. Well, she’s almost perfect. Rebekah’s idea to take a honeymoon road trip from their Southern Californian home to Bangor, Maine in December is far from perfect. He’d much rather travel to somewhere requiring fewer clothes—such as a tropical island paradise—but his new wife is determined to make him freeze his butt off. And unless he wins their wager and can keep from making love to his sexy, sassy lover for twenty-four hours, his butt is as good as frozen.

She has the perfect plan
Rebekah isn’t determined to go to Bangor to cause Eric’s butt discomfort. She’s discovered that his biological grandparents—who he’s never met—live in that distant Maine town and she wants to surprise him with the greatest gift of all: a real family. It will be the perfect ending to a perfect honeymoon spent driving across the country in her perfect minibus with her perfect sweetheart. She’s willing to play dirty to win her wager with Eric and knows her sexy, insatiable lover will be unable to resist her if she puts her mind—and her body—into seducing him. It’s Bangor or bust and she’s betting on Bangor.

Wherever they go, it will be together
Follow Eric and Rebekah on their fun, sexy and surprisingly emotional journey in search of their honeymoon paradise. Will they find it in Bangor or in Tahiti or will they ever make it to paradise at all? Well… almost.

I do hope you enjoy Almost Paradise. Eric and Rebekah are always a lot of fun!

If you’re wondering about future releases, I’m slowly getting back to writing Exodus End #2 Outsider. I’m about halfway finished with it. It’s been really hard for me to get into a happy-enough, sexy-enough mood to write a book about Trey and company. I originally planned to release Outsider mid-March, so that obviously isn’t going to happen. I’m about 10 weeks behind schedule with everything. Please be patient. I’ll do my best to make it worth the wait.

And I’ll have some more good news soon. Because we all need more of that in our lives.
